The Ancon Hill is a 654 foot hill that overlooks the city of Panama. It is an area that was used for the administration of the Panama Canal. It was under U.S.A. jurisdiction as part of the Panama Canal Zone until being returned to Panama in 1999, the area is now a reserve, the hill is the highest point in Panama City. What happened on January 9 of 1964, was one of the main reasons that the Torrijos-Carter treaty was made in order to get the Panama Canal back.
