Ausangate 7-Day Trek from Cusco

Southeast of Cusco, the great mountain range of Cordillera Vilcanota is located and includes a number of peaks, where Ausangate is the highest at 20,945 feet (6,384 meters). On a clear day, the peak is visible from Cuzco with its snow-capped mountaintop. The snow-capped peaks of this area are the second largest Peruvian glaciated system after the aptly named Cordillera Blanca. On one side of the cordillera is the Andes and the altiplano highland, on the eastern side the slopes are faced to the Peruvian Amazonia.
